Through its widespread network, IndiaNano will strive to disseminate the latest advances in technology and research, between research establishments and the corporate community across the globe so that it will benefit society in general and lay down the ground stones for further innovation.
Promote Entrepreneurship
To promote knowledge based and innovation driven enterprises and network agencies of support, academic institutions and Research & Development organizations to foster entrepreneurship. This initiative would provide entrepreneurs and early stage hi-tech ventures with operational, infrastructure, and management support by leveraging access to a network of service providers, vendors, customers and next stage investment capital resources.
Support long-term fundamental engineering research
It is an objective of this initiative to start, establish, fund, endow, maintain, control and manage centers for development of nanotechnology and other emerging technologies to enhance the competitiveness of economy. This initiative will provide sustained support to individual investigators and small groups doing fundamental research, promote university-industry Government funded laboratory partnerships, and foster interagency collaborations. IndiaNano will work towards developing a platform for real-time strategic collaboration between academic, corporate, government and private labs, entrepreneurs, investors and service providers in order to harness the benefits of advances in areas such as materials and manufacturing, electronics, medicine and healthcare, environment, energy, chemicals, biotechnology, agriculture, information technology and national security that have been enabled by the breakthroughs in nanotechnology research. To encourage research networking and shared academic users’ facilities; research centers will play an important role in development and utilization of specific tools, and in promoting partnerships within the community in the coming years.
Attracting Investments
Technological innovation and its application are vital for the advancement of society and for the country to keep pace with the advancement across the globe. It is therefore an objective of this initiative to provide funding for efforts to promote technological innovation and technology spin offs around emerging technologies and user facilities in order to develop a flexible and enabling infrastructure so that the industry can rapidly prototype, commercialize new discoveries and innovations.
